Intimately Bonded Fir Root Statement Necklace

140.00

This beautiful necklace shows the amazing detail of a cross section of Douglas fir root, which I gathered from a giant felled tree that is now serving the forest as a nurse log in the Cascade Mountains. The holes in this piece are natural bore holes made by insects tunneling for shelter and nourishment. This necklace features a large inlay of Rhizoplaca chrysoleuca lichen from the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and is accented with green antique silk stitching.

This is a striking statement piece that celebrates community—the idea that many diverse individuals can together create a space of long-lasting beauty and meaning.

The pendant measures 2 3/4” wide by 1 1/2” tall at its largest points. It hangs from 17” of doubled sage green waxed linen cord and fastens with a brass lobster clasp.
