Bristlecone Pine trees are very long-lived, often reaching ages of at least 1,500 years. These incredible organisms live on high, wind-swept ridges, taking constant beatings from gale-force winds, sub-zero temperatures, and feet of snowfall.

I love to pair bristlecone with lichen, another of the oldest living organisms. Wearing a symbol of longevity reminds one to stand strong and focus on living each moment as it comes, embracing change and the cyclical nature of existence.

This particular piece measures 1.25" x 1.5" at its largest points, and it hangs from a 16" beaded wire. The wire is adorned with burnt orange seed beads and faceted multicolored metal beads. The necklace is secured with a silver toggle.

I hope you will enjoy not only the natural beauty that emanates from this necklace, but the symbolism offered by two of earth's oldest organisms.
